Complete guide to all features and settings
Download XStream Player from the Google Play Store or from xstreamactivation.com. The app works on Android phones, tablets, and Android TV devices including TV boxes.
When you first open XStream Player, you'll see the activation screen with your unique Device ID and Device Key.
You can also activate directly at xstreamactivation.com.
The main dashboard gives quick access to all features: Live TV, Movies, Series, Catchup, Playlist, Favourites, Watch History, and Settings. The top bar includes Search, Account info, and Settings icons.
Channels are organized by categories with item counts shown. Select a category to browse its channels. XStream Player features sub-second channel zapping with intelligent buffering.
View current, upcoming, and past programs for each channel. Search across all channels. Adjust the EPG Time Offset in Settings if times are incorrect.
Browse movies in a poster grid organized by categories. Sort by A-Z, Z-A, New Added, Rating, or Genres. Each movie has a rich detail page with poster, ratings, plot, and trailer playback.
XStream Player remembers your position — resume any partially watched movie from where you left off.
Browse series with full season and episode navigation. Select a series to see all seasons and episodes.
Watch previously aired programs, going back up to 7 days depending on your media source. Select a catchup channel, choose a date, and pick the program to watch.
VLC Engine — Best for live TV and catchup. Handles a wide range of formats and codecs.
ExoPlayer Engine — Best for movies and series. Better subtitle support, smoother seeking, and more reliable resume.
Change the default engine per content type in Settings, or switch during playback.
Use embedded subtitles from your media source, or search OpenSubtitles for external subtitles. Log in to OpenSubtitles in Settings, set your preferred language, then search during playback.
Customize subtitle size, color, and background in Settings.
Long-press any channel, movie, or series to add it to favourites. View all favourites from the dashboard, filtered by Live TV, Movies, or Series.
XStream Player tracks everything you watch. Resume any item from Watch History on the dashboard. Clear history anytime in Settings.
Try switching the player engine in Settings. Check your internet connection and playlist credentials. Try a different buffer size.
Ensure your source provides EPG data. Refresh the EPG and check the time offset in Settings.
Press "Refresh License" on the activation screen. Contact your reseller to verify activation. Ensure internet connectivity.
